One thought

Once upon a time a little girl named Alexis, and she had one thought about taking dance classes. She kept thinking about it and finally told her parents. Once she got put in the right classes she was thriving. She was in the 5-6 year old ballet and jazz class and she loved it so much. Alexis knew that dance was the thing for her. Years later when she was a senior in high school she was on the drill team for her school and had her senior solo for her studio. This was when she knew she wanted to be a professional dancer. Later after high school she tried out for the dallas cowboys cheerleaders and she was on their team for 4 years. Once she got out of college and she was done with the DCC she had kids and had an amazing life. This was because of that one thought that went through her mind when she was only 5 years old.

Achieving your dreams

A lot of dancers think that they can´ t dance professionally but every dancer that is motivated is able to achieve so much. There could be so many jobs that you have have as a professional dancer like a backup dancer for a music artist on tour, broadway dancer, dancing for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, or any type of sports cheerleader. Achieving your dreams is difficult but with the right motivations you will be able to make it. In order to make these dreams come true you need to find the right role model so you can look up to them and find the right motivations.

An amazing dancer that you can look up to is Misty Copeland. She is a beautiful ballet dancer and she has a great success story. ¨ Misty Copeland was 13 when she started her studies in ballet. In the dance world, that’s considered late, but that didn’t stop Misty from breaking records and barriers throughout her career. In 2007, she became the American Ballet Theatre’s second Black soloist in its 75-year history, and was promoted to principal dancer in 2015, the first Black woman ever in the ABT’s history.¨ source: https://www.success.com/success-stories-pod/success-stories-episode-101-lessons-on-influence-from-misty-copeland/ This information shows that even though you start late you stilll could be so sucessful with the right mentors.

About dance

I chose the topic of dance because it is my life. I would not be the person I am today without dance. Dance is an art it has multiple different genres and there are many different ways for dancing. First of all, ballet is the most important genre because it is the technique and what you need to have before you go into all of the other ways of dancing. There are lots of other genres of dance like tap, jazz, hip pop, contemporary, and modern. Although the different dance types that were listed there is lots of street dancing that typically aren’t in dance studios. I have learned many things about dance because of my mom and all of my dance teachers. Recently I have learned about modern dance because in order to learn contemporary you need to learn modern to learn about moving your back and knowing how your body moves. Dance is just learning how to move your body in a beautiful way. It has lots of different aspects to it and it is a lot deeper then what everyone else stereotypes it.
